The Training Records Search interface will be used by industry professionals who are looking for workers with a certain skill set or to confirm that a worker has the certification required for a specific position.
In the Profile tab of your STAR profile, you will see two toggles:
- ‘I agree to have my training records available for advanced search so my credentials can be verified.‘
- ‘I provide permission for interested parties to contact me through the system to see if I am available for work.’
If you agree to have your training records available
The only information displayed through the search interface is your name, union, department, completed courses, date completed and expiration date (if applicable). This feature will allow your employer/union to see the current certificates that you hold, which could impact employment.
If you allow interested parties to contact you
Opting in to the search interface will ensure that supervisors or employers looking for someone with your skill set will find you. Opting into the contact feature will give a supervisor or employer the ability to contact you without seeing your profile or contact information.
