Do You Hear That? Carpentry Shop Sound Levels

DO YOU HEAR THAT?

Carpentry shops in the film industry generally have average sound levels of: 87 dBA; you should be wearing Class C hearing protection.

Class C earplugs or ear muffs will provide enough protection for average sound levels in a carpentry shop. For louder work, such as power sanding, drilling, hammering, cutting, etc. consider wearing Class A or B hearing protection. For noise above 110 dBA (roughly, the sound level of a power saw) consider both earmuffs (Class B) and earplugs (Class A) together.

Did you know you should have your hearing tested annually? Actsafe offers free hearing testing. Call Reliable Mobile Hearing Testing at 604-596-8414 to book.
