The Actsafe Entertainment Safety Conference is kicking off this Friday and this monthly updates will get you up to speed on what is coming up including sessions, our trade show, and this year’s social event.

This month Don Parman was interviewed about the performing arts industry during the pandemic, Anand Kanna’s session at the Whistler Film Festival is available for viewing, and you will also find out about our March course dates, and some upcoming conferences that Actsafe is a part of.

Anand Kanna Moderated a Session

Actsafe’s Manager of Motion Picture Programs and Services, Anand Kanna, moderated the session ‘A New Era of Safety and Respect’ at the Whistler Film Festival 2020. The session is available to view here for free until March 31.

Every Wednesday, Whistler Film Festival Society will be rolling out free content that offers insights into the Canadian and international film industry, current and emerging trends, and opportunities for advancement.

Webinars: Conducting Road Safety Risk Assessments

Road Safety At Work is holding some complimentary two-hour online workshops that focus on risk assessments, specific to road safety on March 3 and March 10.
 
Participants will learn about resources to help identify and categorize driving-related hazards, systematically evaluate risks, and set priorities to control those risks. They will also be provided a demonstration and access to their no-cost online tool (RiskCheck), which can be used to record and document risk assessments and produce action plans.

Don Parman, Actsafe’s Manager of Performing Arts Programs and Services is co-presenting the session ‘Self-Care and Collective Wellness’ at the Dancer Transition Resource Centre’s annual conference, on the MOVE.

on the MOVE is a dynamic career planning and networking conference designed specifically for dancers entering professional careers.

The Pacific Legal Education and Outreach Society provides services through two major initiatives, each of which conducts several programs. The volunteer lawyers and law students of Artists’ Legal Outreach (ALO) offer resources, workshops, and clinics for low-income artists throughout British Columbia and across Canada. Law For Non-Profits conducts workshops and webinars on legal issues for non-profits and offers an Ask A Law Student service.
