If an organization is interested in advancing the purposes and supporting the activities of Actsafe, they can apply for a free Membership. Actsafe Members include professional, trade or industry groups, unions, associations or corporations, and sometimes employers and individual workers from the industry.

In addition to any rights conferred by the Societies Act, an Actsafe Member has the following rights and privileges of membership:

  • To receive notice of, and to attend, all General Meetings (e.g. AGM);
  • To make or second motions at a General Meeting and to speak in debate on motions under consideration in accordance with such rules of order as may be adopted;
  • Exercise a vote on matters for determination at General Meetings; and
  • To participate in the programs and initiatives of the Society, in accordance with such criteria as may be determined by the Board from time to time.

Eligibility

An organization may be eligible to be accepted as a Member if it:

a) Is engaged in:

    1. The performing arts;
    2. Live performance venues;
    3. Organizing or conducting live performance special events; or
    4. Motion picture, television or commercial production; and

b) Is interested in advancing the purposes and supporting the activities of the Society.

All eligible and interested organizations must apply to become a Member, which goes to Actsafe’s Board of Directors for consideration and approval. A Member must appoint a Designated Representative and an Alternate Designated Representative to exercise the rights of membership on behalf of the Member.

You are already a member of Actsafe Safety Association if you are an industry member within the following four Classification units or you have applied for membership.

761027 Organizing or Conducting Special Events

Actsafe Membership is also open to professional, trade or industry groups, unions, associations or corporations engaged in arts and entertainment industries.

Membership benefits include:
• Actsafe Membership card (by request).
• An invitation to and vote at the Annual General Meeting.

Memberships must be renewed each calendar year.
