This two-day training program is designed to meet the needs of individuals who have minimal experience operating a counterbalanced lift truck. Once completed the operator will have the skills to become a proficient forklift operator.
The program focuses on these principles:
• General lift truck fundamentals
• Principals of stability, balance and capacity
• The pre-operation inspection
• Safety guidelines for operating lift trucks
• Safe load handling techniques
• Fueling internal combustion powered lift trucks
• Charging/changing industrial batteries on electric powered trucks
Theory and classroom learning makes up a large majority of day one; the day also includes hands on practice with the machines.
Day two is entirely hands on; students will be introduced to machine functions and controls. Throughout the day, students will have the opportunity to utilize various sizes of machines. Upon completion of this two-day program, students will be comfortable with the function and operation of a counterbalanced forklift.
